Dear Postdoc Workers United Members,
Your bargaining team is calling for a vote to authorize a strike because OHSU refuses to reach an agreement on wage increases above the NIH minimum or issuing protected time off for visa renewals.
We will be holding a town hall tomorrow (7/17 at 12:30 pm) MacHall 1162. The link to attend the meeting virtually can be found here. The password for the virtual meeting room is 8x5TJZAEwu2. We will provide lunch and discuss the details of the final offers issued last week.
This is a critical moment for all of us as we work together to ensure fair wages, benefits and working conditions. Your bargaining team is demanding:
- Starting salary of $70,000
- 3% annual experience-based increases
- 5% annual cost of living adjustments
W2s for all, improvements to visa processing/onboarding, paid immigration expenses, and 10 days protected time for visa renewals.
Your vote is essential in determining our collective course of action and demonstrating our unity and resolve.
Voting Details:
- Start Date: Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 17th at 12:15 pm
- Voting Method: You will receive an email from Election Buddy via your OHSU email. Check your spam or junk email for “election buddy.”
- For those of you who have provided a cell phone number, you will also receive a text with the link to vote.
- Each postdoc will receive one election code.
- Voting is ANONYMOUS.
- Eligibility: All OHSU postdocs paid a stipend or salary.
- End Date: Wednesday, July 24th at 5 pm
